Did You Know You Can Print Stamps at Home?

Last Updated on August 14, 2023 by Christian Ralph

Christmas is the busiest time of the year for postage and courier services; the average Briton spends £17.02 on cards and parcel delivery during the festive season.

Rather than rooting through your kitchen drawers or searching fruitlessly through the pockets of your work bag, it is possible to print postage stamps at home. The Royal Mail has developed an Online Postage system, which lets users buy postage from the comfort of their home and print it using their home printer.

For users hoping to pay for postage at home, there are two options: Online Postage and Click & Drop. These two options have been designed to offer different benefits and services for users.

The Online Postage option allows users to register and create a prepay account into which they will pay the correct postage amount to receive printable files to serve as postage currency. The useful tool is designed specifically for sending letters within the UK and sending parcels internationally. Making the process simpler, the tool allows users to create an address book to store and manage all regular contacts.

The tool allows users to print the address and postage directly onto a letter, making it perfect for small businesses creating a professional appearance on their printed deliveries.

The other service available is the Click & Drop tool which requires no sign up and allows one-off sellers to print the address of the recipient and postage directly onto an envelope or parcel. The UK-only service has been developed specifically for eBay and PayPal, debit card and credit card users.

Printers which accommodate printing on envelopes and parcel packaging are necessary for home and office users to utilise the services. Printerland stock a wide range of printers which can accommodate such functions, simply visit our homepage or call the dedicated sales team on 0800 840 1992 to find your perfect printer.
