When you look at this tiny printer, you'll notice that it is barely bigger than the average smartphone. You might wonder just how it manages to produce such amazing, high-quality prints. The answer lies in the innovative ZINK (zero ink) technology that the HP Sprocket Select uses. There is no need for an ink cartridge, the printer uses specially created photo paper. This paper has several different layers; a backing layer topped with heat-sensitive layers which contain cyan, magenta and yellow dyes held on the paper as colourless crystals.
The printer activates these crystals by emitting pulses of heat. The length and intensity of these pulses convert the microcrystals into a coloured form by melting them. As they re-solidify, the colour remains on the paper, given you an outstanding image with an incredible finish. ZINK paper is also available in a sticky-back format, meaning that you can create a fantastic range of personalised stickers from your photos.
The HP Sprocket will connect via Bluetooth, allowing you to print straight from your phone. It is compatible with iPhones running iOS 10.0.2 and above, as well as Android Phones running 5.1 above. This means that this compact and portable printer is perfect for taking with you, wherever you go.
