Avoid the fakes

It can be difficult to track down genuine Xerox supplies for the ColorQube 8870, given that many listings on popular marketplaces are for unsuitable products. There are two types of solid ink product to watch out for: the fakes, marketed as Xerox branded but actually cheap imitations; and the genuine Xerox solid ink that isn’t meant for use in European printers. Xerox change the design of their solid ink blocks by region, so ink meant for a machine in North America won’t work in a European machine. If you try and install the wrong ink, your machine will stop working and display an error message prompting you for a service visit. Sometimes, the printer will accept the ink which then invalidates your warranty and often damages the machine. Avoid online marketplaces for ‘Xerox’ products and instead choose authentic Xerox solid ink from an established and trusted retailer, to protect your investment.
