The difference is in the particles
Both OKI and Xerox manufacture their toner to be uniform and spherical, which virtually eliminates the toner scatter found in after market toner cartridges. Inferior toners are crushed to produce irregular toner particles that clog the printer causing paper jams and friction damage to the printer's drum, belt and fuser. The finer particles in genuine Xerox and OKI toner can be more accurately applied to the page for superior print results.
