I am trying to get a simple yes no answer and I am goung around in circles. If I buy a HP Color LaserJet Enterprise MFP M578 can I print oin A3 paper via the manual tray feed.

No, the HP Color LaserJet Enterprise MFP M578 does not support A3 media via any tray. The multipurpose tray supports sizes from 76 x 127 to 216 x 356 mm and the standard tray supports sizes from 102 x 148 to 216 x 297 mm.
