What is an A5 printer?

An A5 printer is any kind of printing device that is capable of natively printing onto A5 sized media. A5 is a standardised paper size that is widely used for a range of printed materials including documents, brochures, flyers and more. Defined by the ISO 216 international standard, A5 measures 148 x 120 millimetres and is half the size of an A4 sheet. Due to its compact and convenient size, A5 media has gained popularity and is ideal in a variety of use cases. A5 stationery including notebooks, notepads and planners is widely used thanks to the portability and convenience associated with the smaller media size.

Which printers can print A5?

The vast majority of printers which are capable of printing A4 sizes, will also be able to accommodate A5 sized media. However, make sure to check the specifications of your printer to ensure that it can print on A5 media. Printers capable of printing in A5 are available in a wide range of variations with both single function and multifunction solutions available as well as colour and mono options.

How do I print A5 size on my printer?

If you’re looking to print in A5 sizes, there are a few general steps to follow. Firstly, select the document you want to print and select “Print”. Next, from the print window, access the page setup menu and choose A5 from the preset paper sizes. Ensure your printers paper tray is loaded with A5 sized media, when using the manual feed slot, take special care to slide the paper guides to the A5 side and ensure paper is loaded in portrait orientation. If your printer has multiple trays, ensure you choose the relevant paper tray which is loaded with A5 sized media. Before printing it is important to adjust any print settings that may affect the final print such as margin size, page orientation, double-sided printing etc. Once finalised, click print and await your A5 printed document.
