Toner Cartridges for Printer Models

Our comprehensive range of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) toner cartridges will get the best out of your printer. Whether you need toner cartridges for home, business or professional imaging use, we stock all the major brands including Epson, Canon, Xerox, Brother, Lexmark, Samsung, HP and more. And with value and rainbow pack deals on many of our toner cartridges, we'll help you cut costs without compromising on print quality.

Why buy OEM toner cartridges

OEM toner cartridges are designed by your printer's manufacturer to work perfectly first time, every time. So if you own a Canon printer, using OEM Canon toner cartridges will give you best performance and print quality. Filled with the best quality toner, genuine toner cartridges ensure hassle-free printing for you and a longer lifespan for your printer.

High-quality printing

Not all toners are created equal. Standard quality toner found in non-genuine toner cartridges is crushed and contains jagged particles that can scratch the sensitive imaging drum, causing irreparable damage and a loss of image quality. High-quality toners are precision-engineered to protect your printer during use while delivering vibrant colours, razor sharp text and high definition in the fine details.

Quality, reliability and consistency

Genuine toner cartridges are designed to deliver exceptional print quality, reliable performance and a consistent yield. While an OEM toner cartridge delivers 100% of its stated yield, a non-genuine cartridge typically prints out between 25% and 27% fewer pages. And where prints made with high-quality toners are fade and water resistant, non-genuine toner can produce smudged prints with indistinct characters. OEM toner cartridges may cost more upfront, but they're designed to optimise print performance and have a much lower failure rate than non-genuine cartridges for lower overall costs of ownership.

Sustainability

The major printer and toner cartridge manufacturers have cartridge return or collection programmes in place which allow you to recycle end of life consumables with ease.

Toner cartridges are a key aspect of laser printing. The last thing you need when working on a project is to run low - that’s why we at Printerland have a vast collection of top-quality replacement toner cartridges to keep you stocked up.

For all of your printing needs, there’s absolutely nothing about printers that we do not know. If you’re unsure about which toner cartridge is compatible with your printer, one of our professional advisors can assist - we stock all of the major brands so will be sure to have the right toner for you.

All our products can be purchased instantly from our website, but if you feel that you need a little more guidance or would like to sign up for one of our managed print subscriptions, our helpful team can help.

How Do Toner Cartridges Work in Laser Printing?

Laser printers use the powdered ink particles in toner cartridges to print documents. Here’s how laser printers work:

  • Step one: Every laser printer contains a drum unit, which is positively charged by a heated wire inside the device.
  • Step two: A laser is passed over the drum, reversing the charge in the areas it hits. These negatively charged areas represent the image or text that needs to be printed.
  • Step three: The toner roller is passed across the drum, making the toner particles stick to the negatively charged parts.
  • Step four: The toner then passes across the surface of the paper, printing the image/text onto it.
  • Step five: Once the toner powder is heated up, the toner melts, which fuses it to the piece of paper.

This process may sound complicated at first, but unless you're going to attempt to service your printer yourself in the future, it's not something you really need to worry about.

For colour laser printing, four main colours - cyan, magenta, yellow and black toner - all mix to create whatever colour your print requires. If you don’t think you’ll need a printer for colour, you could also opt for a mono laser printer. As mono laser printers only print in black and differing shades of grey, they are often cheaper and you will only need to purchase black toner to keep it in use.

Toner can only be used with laser printers, so it won’t work with other printer types. The other common type of printer on the market is the inkjet printer, which only uses ink cartridges.

The Difference Between Ink & Toner

Both ink and toner can be used for a variety of things, whether your printer is being used at home or within an office space.

  • Toner cartridges come in cylindrical containers that are filled with toner powder - the powder itself is made of polyester, which is a form of plastic.
  • Ink cartridges contain a liquid tinted with different coloured dyes. The main colours used for ink cartridges are the same as those used with toner - black, cyan, magenta and yellow.

Toner is initially more expensive to buy than ink but it tends to need replacing less often, more than making up for the initial purchase cost. Laser printers are also generally pricier than inkjet printers when first buying the device, but the fact that the cartridges have to be replaced less often balances out the overall cost.

Another major benefit of using toner over ink is that inkjet cartridges are prone to clogging and can dry out (unlike toner), which can lead to your ink needing to be replaced more often than usual.

Do You Need to Use Official Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Toner Cartridges?

Although OEM is the recommended toner type for laser printing, some people seek out cheaper, unbranded toner cartridges. However, cutting corners with third-party toners has its risks. Whilst these toners are cheaper and may seem to work just as well as OEM cartridges, we would only recommend using official compatible toner cartridges with your printer.

Using genuine cartridges - such as the OEM cartridges we stock - will give your work a better print quality. Using third-party cartridges could also damage your printer and might invalidate your printer warranty, so this is something else you need to be aware of.

Some printer companies have programmed software into their devices that can detect third-party toner, disabling them from working if detected. This could render your printer unusable, so it's not really worth the risk. Another benefit to using OEM cartridges is that you’ll usually find that you’re able to print more pages per cartridge than with a third-party cartridge.

We only stock genuine OEM cartridges at Printerland, so you know you'll be getting the best quality available on the market. If you need any help with choosing the right toner for your printer, or if you'd like to discuss anything else, contact our team of printer experts who will be happy to help.

If you're looking to save money on toner, why not consider purchasing XL cartridges or value packs? Bundle packs can be purchased, usually consisting of cyan, magenta and yellow toner. Larger packs combining together all three colours as well as black can also be bought. These packs are a bargain and are cheaper than buying every colour separately.

One fantastic option for the budget savvy is XL cartridges, which are much larger toner cartridges consisting of a greater cartridge yield than standard toner cylinders. You'll often pay a little more for an XL cartridge, but the price will be cheaper overall than purchasing several normal yield toner packs. You'll also use less packaging when buying an XL cartridge, which is another benefit for those interested in becoming more sustainable with their printing.

Buying cartridges in bulk is another alternative idea for saving money, particularly if you work in a busy office with several laser printers and a high print load.

At Printerland, we sell both value packs and XL ink and toner cartridges, which you can purchase in an instant from our website!

The Benefits of Using (OEM) Cartridges

An OEM cartridge is a toner cartridge that was built by the manufacturer of the printer that it is used in.

These toner cartridges work best when used with specific types of paper too - essentially, by utilising a full collection of components built by the same manufacturer, you’re able to achieve the purest, highest-quality final print results possible.

OEM or Original Equipment Manufactured cartridges are considered to be the best choice for your printer for several reasons, ranging from printing performance to yield and printer maintenance.

As the cartridges are specifically built for the device, they cause the least damage and generate the highest yield, which is perfect if you’re looking to keep your printer in top shape whilst also keeping your printing costs to a minimum.

Although OEM cartridges can be slightly more expensive than third-party cartridges, the higher achievable printing yield does offset the increased purchase cost, resulting in a similar overall printing price when compared to third-party alternatives.

It’s important to note that some printers do come with a notice to use only OEM toner cartridges with the device and the guarantee/warranty for these printers may be void if you choose to use a different brand of toner cartridge when printing.

For this reason, it may be a safer option to choose OEM cartridges, as the cost of replacing the out-of-warranty printer will be far more expensive than the cost of purchasing OEM cartridges. At Printerland we only stock OEM toner cartridges, so you know you’ll be getting the best consumables possible for your printer.

Here are some of the key benefits associated with OEM toner cartridges:

High-Quality Printing and Performance

As with any printing product, the number one priority is the quality of the prints that are created.

Every user is striving for high-quality prints and with OEM cartridges, that’s exactly what you’ll get. With high-resolution printers, OEM toner will always win out when comparing print quality with compatible cartridges.

Page yield tends to be higher when using OEM cartridges - this is something you can easily check yourself, as it should be printed on the cartridges themselves.

Designed by the experts, OEM cartridges are built for supreme clarity in the final product - the colour profiles are designed to exactly replicate the source material and you’ll be able to see the difference at the first glance.

Whether it’s text or images, or even art prints, that you’re creating, there’s no match for the print quality that you get with OEM cartridges.

In addition to the visual quality, it’s also been stated that prints using OEM toner cartridges have increased longevity over third-party toner products - this means that your prints look better for longer, losing less vibrancy over time.

OEM Cartridges are Consistent & Reliable

The next key benefit of OEM toner cartridges is the consistency that they offer to users over a long period.

One of the most cited downfalls that users have found with third-party toner cartridges is that the quality of the print differs too heavily from print to print. This is a huge consideration that you’ll need to make when printing for commercial use, as an artist might.

It’s not just a short-term benefit, either. If you use third-party toner cartridges you’ll often find that you won’t be able to print the same amount of pages, when compared to the general OEM cartridges.

Sustainability

Sustainability is one of the key focuses in many business settings in the modern age, with companies seeking to reduce waste and, in turn, their impact on the environment.

As we’ve mentioned above, one of the key benefits of OEM cartridges is the longevity that they provide and this can be a key factor in helping you to reduce the amount of waste that you have in relation to your printing. A higher page yield means that your cartridges will last longer, thus negating the need to replace them as often.

As you’ll be disposing of your cartridges far less often, the amount of waste produced is minimised - with less waste comes lower emissions and a smaller carbon footprint, ideal for businesses that have strict eco-friendly quotas that must be met.

Many manufacturers are also now choosing to turn to alternative materials when manufacturing their toner cartridges. A popular choice for modern eco-friendly cartridges is biomass, which comes from wood, vegetable matter, and other biodegradable materials that naturally decompose when recycled. Again, this reduces the number of carbon emissions produced and ensures that your business remains an eco-friendly organisation.
