The Phaser 8560 does not actually take toner cartridges – instead, you’ll need solid ink cubes to keep your printer running smoothly.You can purchase the solid ink that you need from us in packs of 3 cubes for each colour, and 3 or 6 cubes for black. We also supply extra value packs which contain both the colours and blacks together for a reduced cost.

Solid ink vs toner cartridges

Unlike toner cartridges, solid ink does not come in a cartridge. This reduces the waste that your printer generates by as much as 90%, compared to a laser printer.

In terms of quality, the results you’ll get from using solid ink cubes are comparable to what you get from laser printers that use toner cartridges. In some cases, solid ink can produce better prints – particularly where the choice of paper is low quality. By contrast, a laser printer using a toner cartridge will typically need super-smooth white paper to achieve the very best image quality.

Solid ink came to the market in 1991 and since then has evolved to be a true alternative to toner cartridges. The prints that your Phaser 8560 generates have a similar look and feel to those generated from a laser printer, with competitive print quality for images, lines, text, blends and tints.

Solid ink writing systems are well known to be less complex in comparison with laser printers. Your Phaser 8560 will have less moving parts and you won’t need to buy as many replacement supplies.
