Q.
Just got new Lexmark printer MS312dn two days ago. Please tell me what each button on top of printer means: The Wrench, the Back Arrow, the Half Moon, and the "X". The yellow half-moon shaped button is lighted along with the green light is on indicating the printer is plugged in and turned on. Thanks. It would be helpful to know the meaning of each of these. Also, How do you tell WHEN the cartridge ink is low?
A.
Hi, the wrench button is the menu. Pressing the button while navigating within the menus returns the printer control panel to the top-level menu screen. The main function of the back button is to return you to the previous screen. Sleep mode can be enabled when selecting the moon button. The sleep mode option lets you reduce power consumption when the printer is idle. If the sleep button is blinking green, this indicates that your printer is warming up, processing data or printing. Solid green indicates that your printer is on, but idle. If your printer's sleep button is solid amber, this means that it is in sleep mode. The blinking amber sleep button indicates it is entering or waking from hibernate mode. Lastly, the X button is the stop button. Pressing the X button allows you to exit menus and stop printer activities. To view the status of parts and supplies, you must firstly select the wrench button(menu). Once completed, select OK and then select View Supplies.

Q.
(a) Is it possible to attach a label printer to this printer? I send a lot of post and would like a label printer.
(b) I have wireless internet. Would I be able to use this printer?
A.
The Lexmark MS312 will allow you to print labels and envelopes through its own paper trays. The printer is not wireless as standard so in order to connect the printer to your wireless network you would need to purchase the Lexmark Wireless Print Server Kit.
